Weekly Weakness

Hello Suzies,

It's been a while. :/ I have big intentions, just you wait!

From now on you can expect AT LEAST one or more blog posts a week.  Mind blowing I know, I know.  I guarantee that you will see this post weekly, hence "Weekly Weakness".  In this post I will choose a product, clothing item, or something totally miscellaneous, from there I will evaluate it and tell you all the reasons why I love the "weakness" so much. Lesssssssgo!

Salt Spray

I would say that I use this stuff on a daily basis.. yep every day.  What it is, is salt spray, its purpose is to give you beach waves with out taking a dip in the ocean.  I have to say that I was skeptical about the effectiveness of it before I bought any of it.  The first brand that I bought was by Bumble and Bumble, and for the amount that came in that little bottle it was a little on the pricey side.  It was magic though!  After I had emptied my B&B, I was in desperate need for some more but decided it would be much more feasible to buy a cheaper product.  I went with Not Your Mother's and was not disappointed!  Being undeniably cheaper for a much greater quantity of product it was the way to go.  As far as which one I like better, it is a pretty close call.  I only found a couple of cons with the NYM, it has a coconut-y smell which I do not mind too terribly but it's not my favorite, also it leaves your hair quite dirty feeling and tends to fall by the end of the day. But for its price it is worth the sacrifice!

Aloha readers!  To most people, the construction taking place downtown where I live is seen as a pain in the rear.  To me, on the other hand, I see it as picture-perfect setting.  I took advantage of it today along with the beautiful weather and here I have for you, an outfit of the day.

 I am wearing a tank top from H&M which has a sheer-ish front and on the back it is a sweater material. I know, how versatile!!  My fluorescent coral shorts are from the ever-lovely Anthropologie.  There there, hold your britches I found these on the sale rack.  Yes you can find some of the best things not at full price! My open-toed flats are from Urban Outfitters.  They are black and go with just about anything at the moment, great buy!  The silver bangle I am wearing has become one of my jewelry must-haves.  It has a small braided detail on it; I found it among some other items in my mom's jewelry box.  Never doubt your mother's jewelry box, that place can be filled with treasure envied by pirates.  It can be the "X" on the map of style.  My other bracelet, or cuff, rather is from Forever21 and for me is a statement piece.  My rings that I am wearing are ones that I wear everyday with whatever I am wearing.  My earrings are from Urban Outfitters and they have a turquoise and copper look to them, I like them A LOT.  

My makeup today was minimal, so that my eye makeup wouldn't seem too over-the-top.  Instead of wearing foundation, I just used a little bit of concealer here and there.  I used a bright pink blush, and a coral-y lipstick.  For my eyes I decided to try something different, because I generally NEVER wear eyeliner.  I just winged it out for a cat-eye effect and finished off with my favorite mascara EVER, Rimmel's ScandalEyes black mascara!

The Sock Diaries: Chapter 1

Hello Suzies,

I introduce to you, the Sock Diaries.

I'm excited, but also a little antsy about this post.  I guess you could describe it as a lifestyle post.  I have never done one of these, but I feel like what it is about might help someone out there.  In this series, everyday I think I have something inspirational to say (because I'm such the philosopher) or something that I think might reach out to someone, I will take a picture of my socks; I will share my story while incorporating a touch of style.  Here it goes..

Where I go to school a uniform is required, so I try to find innovative ways to express myself through accessories.  Socks are one of my favorite things, love 'em.  I have collected numerous pairs of funky, bright, fancy socks throughout the years, so I guess you could say I have become pretty good with mix-matching socks, shoes, and jewelry.  But that is not nearly the point of this.

I started back at school on Wednesday, and I am usually extremely excited about going back, seeing new and familiar faces, and learning, actually.  This year it was different.  I woke up on Tuesday very nervous, with a knot in my stomach, school was tomorrow and in my mind, I was psyching myself out.  The latter part of my previous school year just seemed to be a whirlwind of disappointment.  By no means am I looking for pity, no, but it just seemed that nothing good or happy was happening.  I was in a rut, and that is how that year ended.  I guess the thought of school automatically filled my head with negativity. 

I walked into school on Wednesday morning with a couple of friends and was already feeling a little bit more positive.  The day began and the pros began to outrageously outweigh the cons.  Silence had been filled with laughter.  By the end of the day I was happy as a lark.  All along I had just been freaking myself out with nonsense.  If any of you ever feel this way, anxious or nervous or sad try to just breathe, things will come around, and you will be an even better person than before.
