The Sock Diaries: Chapter 1

Hello Suzies,

I introduce to you, the Sock Diaries.

I'm excited, but also a little antsy about this post.  I guess you could describe it as a lifestyle post.  I have never done one of these, but I feel like what it is about might help someone out there.  In this series, everyday I think I have something inspirational to say (because I'm such the philosopher) or something that I think might reach out to someone, I will take a picture of my socks; I will share my story while incorporating a touch of style.  Here it goes..

Where I go to school a uniform is required, so I try to find innovative ways to express myself through accessories.  Socks are one of my favorite things, love 'em.  I have collected numerous pairs of funky, bright, fancy socks throughout the years, so I guess you could say I have become pretty good with mix-matching socks, shoes, and jewelry.  But that is not nearly the point of this.

I started back at school on Wednesday, and I am usually extremely excited about going back, seeing new and familiar faces, and learning, actually.  This year it was different.  I woke up on Tuesday very nervous, with a knot in my stomach, school was tomorrow and in my mind, I was psyching myself out.  The latter part of my previous school year just seemed to be a whirlwind of disappointment.  By no means am I looking for pity, no, but it just seemed that nothing good or happy was happening.  I was in a rut, and that is how that year ended.  I guess the thought of school automatically filled my head with negativity. 

I walked into school on Wednesday morning with a couple of friends and was already feeling a little bit more positive.  The day began and the pros began to outrageously outweigh the cons.  Silence had been filled with laughter.  By the end of the day I was happy as a lark.  All along I had just been freaking myself out with nonsense.  If any of you ever feel this way, anxious or nervous or sad try to just breathe, things will come around, and you will be an even better person than before.

I used to want to believe that I was right-brained.  I think I am in a couple of ways, but as I've grown I have started to discover the abstract part of me come out.  I like it, a lot.

30 Day Snap | Days 16, 17, 18

Hello Suzies,

I know, I know.

I cheated! Sorry, but this honestly sums up the days I have skipped.  I am plum worn out, One Direction, that's all I have to say.  I'm still freaking out knowing that I saw them, like in real life.  It's just crazy, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Seriously, Take Me Home

Hello Suzies,

Let's all just take a moment to scream as long and as loud as you'd like for 5 guys also known as One Direction.  3, 2, 1...

    OK now that we've let that out, I will begin.  My two best friends and I departed from home at 9 A.M on Sunday, Louisville bound.  Jamming out to 5SOS and 1D, we could not believe we were going to see their actual faces later on.  Once in Louisville we did some shopping in high hopes that we might run into Luke, Michael, Calum, Ashton, Harry, Niall, Liam, Louis, or Zayn.  We didn't, but I had a Sharpie on standby just in case.  

    We arrived at the hotel we were staying at and the concert preparation commenced.  Yes, One Direction temporary tattoos were applied.  The gates opened at 6 o'clock so we headed over to the venue a few minutes before and the line was crazy long!

    We had our bags checked and unfortunately I wasn't permitted to take my camera in.  I was kind of bummed out because I was super pumped to have an awesome camera to capture my  boys, but oh well!  We bought our concert merch and took our seats.  We waited anxiously along with the rest of the 1D Family- seriously it was like we were all bffs.  5SOS preformed which was out of this world!  While we waited for the boys, songs from the movie Grease were sounded along with the Macarena.  It was hilarious because nearly everyone in the Yum! Center was dancing.  Then it was time, the time I had waited 403 days for, the lights and music shut off and the curtain came up, exposing the silhouettes of the boys. The crowd roared!  The rest of the night was like a dream, words cannot describe the happiness I felt watching five boys I've seen on my computer screen nearly everyday for the past year and a half.  I wonder if they know how much happiness they bring to others by just being five goofballs that can sing?

I am proud to announce that I am seeing ONE DIRECTION IN CONCERT TOMORROW NIGHT!! Sooooo, I won't be able to post tomorrow, but I will see you on Monday!

30 Day Snap | Day 14

Hello Suzies,

Orange soda & tater tots.

The other night I went out for a girls' night with two really good friends!  We strolled downtown, ate some scrummy ice cream, and had a nice chat!  For the remainder of the evening we just drove.  We drove from one end of the county to the other just talking and laughing the whole way.  For the grand finale we stopped by a local dairy freeze.  They have the BEST tater tots, or 'gems' as they are called on the menu, and soft drinks.  So of course we bought some gems and sodas and sat on a cute picnic table under a rainbow umbrella!
