Pamper Evening

Hello Suzies,

The other day I was feeling pretty stressed, so I took it upon myself with inspiration from Zoe to have a pamper evening.

I call this one "Stressin'".
I started out my Pamper Evening by taking a nice shower.  You could also choose to take a fancy bubble bath with candles and all but baths freak me out so I refrained.  After I wrapped my hair up in a towel, I used some of the Body Shop's body butter, which left me feeling soft and smelling fresh!  I also would like to add that, for me at least, listening to music is a great way to relax.  I highly suggest the band Daughter, and Matt Corby.

For Christmas my mom came upon a great deal of samples of beauty products.  There were a few face masks among them, and I figured this would be the perfect way to calm mah face considering I have been breaking out recently. I cannot recall the name or brand of the mask, but you should thank me because they sucker was SMEL-LY.

The mask went on very smoothly, and had a clay like feel to it.

 (Feeling glam)

Twenty minutes later and I was becoming very impatient with the stinky mess that rested on my face.

Once rinsed off, I have to say that the mask did in fact give my face that "glow".

I planned on using the Bumble&Bumble Invisible Hair Oil sample that is shown above, but somehow the tube that it was in mysteriously went missing so I'll just have to let you guys know how that works in a later post!  As an alternative, though, I sprayed some Argon oil in my hair to keep it from getting to dry when I blow dried it!

(tousles hair)

To finish off the night, I had a delightful cup of peppermint and lemongrass tea with a little bit of milk and sugar which helped me reach the perfect zen.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and maybe find it inspiring to have your own Pamper Evening!
Until we meet again...

What's in My Bag??

Hello Suzies,

Let's fine out..

FABU satchel from the luxurious and perfectly perfect TopShop.
Pencil because you never know when you'll need to write something and then need to erase it.. Oscar et la dame rose is a book I have been reading in my AP French class that I actually need to return to ma prof.  Finalment est mon journal qui WOAH soz.. Finally is my journal which hold my deepest and darkest secrets (random ideas, styling ideas, and wishlists).
Here are some various coupons I have been given.  The Creme coffeehouse, Chic-fil-a, and Bella Ragazza all of which I must use by the end of the year.
Hand sani because germs are not allowed.  Absinthe hand cream from the Body Shop, can I just say that this is the best hand lotion I have ever come upon and I wish I could have a lifetime supply.  Powder and powder brush for when you begin to shine brighter than a diamond.
I think my iPod touch is in here purely because I had forgotten that it was in there.  As you can see it has been well used and is still used because I can't plug my phone up to my car and jam.  My phone is playing the one and only, ever lovely Haim.
A thin ponytail holder, no-crease headband, rose gold bangle, gold bolt bracelet, and two pearl earrings minus one of the earring backs which is somewhere on the art room floor at school.
A lot of lipsticks because we all need options/ I put them in there and neglect to put them back in the bathroom.  I store them in this paper Lush Cosmetics bag within my bag.
Handmade yarn from a Shaker Village, a watermelon Dum Dum sucker, and a piece of copper sheeting for an art project I am doing.
The contents of my "wallet" which is actually a small cosmetic bag so it has been excluded.  EOS minty lipbalm, an Abe and eleven cents, a hotel key card from my One Direction concert that I accidentally kept, my driver's license, and my yearbook staff press card.
Lastly my bag holds my glorious car keys and keychains. The One Direction one was given to me by Leslie and the other is from Anthropologie; they were both given to me on my sixteenth birthday, actually.

I hope you all enjoyed this, and good luck to everyone studying for finals!!

Australian Cowgirl?!

Hello Suzies,

Winter is approaching at a high rate of speed, and I cannot wait!  Winter, after all, is my favorite season.  I also love wearing warm clothes.  Warm clothes require more material, which gives them the potential to be on a higher level of "lovablity"..catch my flow?

Give it up for my dad, who caught this candid without knowing it!  The pleasant turned glutenous yet still pleasant American holiday has come and gone.  I love that holidays because the family gets together for a nice time.  I also love the holidays, as mentioned previously, because of the cold weather attire.  The inspiration for this outfit started with my hat *heart eyes*.  This is no ordinary brimmed hat, it is an Australian cowboy hat.  That's right ladies and gentlemen.  I rediscovered this hat in the storage of my garage and knew I was onto something.  My dad was in the Navy for a while and he had the opportunity to sail around the world.  He was stationed primarily in the far east and Australia.  He purchased this Made-In-Australia hat, not Made-In-China, AUSTRALIA.  I think it's pretty cool.  So that's my story of the day!

Outfit:
Hat- Australia..
Silver Cuff- Forever21
Monogram Necklace- Moon&Lola c/o Blossoms
Chambray Shirt- Gap
Shaw- Free People
Brown Acid Washed Harem Pants- Urban Outfitters
Orange Cone Heels- ModCloth

Being Busy, Prepostions, and Stuff

Hello Suzies,

I would say, "I'm promise I'm back for good," buuuut we see how that has turned out.  I don't forget about you, I CAN promise you that much.  I just get so busy and procrastinate and blah blah all those shenanigans.  Anyway, here I am!

Since I've been away I have taken several pictures to be used for WideEyedSusan, this is one!  Taken by my wonderful friend Lesley, I stand in an alley of clovers and beside a wall covered in graffiti out of which I was unable to make words..  I am wearing an outfit of which I am extremely yet peculiarly proud.  I feel like these sentences sound weird because I'm trying to make them grammatically correct by not putting prepositions at the end.. please excuse me.  It was dream job day at school on this particular day and I tried to dress the role of Accessories Director at TeenVogue; I really like Sheena Smith, she is the cooliest.  Plus, I never get to wear normal clothes to school because we wear uniforms.  I talked about that in this post!
Now time to get down to bidness.  From head to toe? FROM HEAD TO TOE!  My RayBans are a staple item, love'em.  My earrings are from the ever lovely Urban Outfitters.  You can barely see it but the silver necklace laying under my collar is from H&M along with the black ring on my pinky!  My bracelets are just from around the house, I really wish I could tell you where they are from but I have no idea.  Oh! My purse, it's kind of hiding behind my person, is from TopShop, and oh my oh my how I love it!  The chambray collared shirt is from Gap, the overlaying boyfriend-like sweater is from- I could eat this store up- H&M.  Black jeggings... YOU GUESSED RIGHT, H&M!  Desert boots are an autumn and winter essential, mine are Steve Madden- very reliable boot brand.  My coat is my favorite favorite favorite!  It is a vintage piece of my Great-Grandmother Dot's, actually made by a local seamstress way back.  This one-of-a-kind piece is covered in a tiny blue and green hounds tooth!
I would like to wish everyone a very very happy Thanksgiving!!
Comment below if you would like to see a post about a certain something! I love love love new ideas.

p.s. If you are looking for some good music, for traveling or cleaning or generally living, check out Haim.  I adore them, so fab.

OOTD

Hello Suzies,

Caution barrels and gravel.

Aloha readers!  To most people, the construction taking place downtown where I live is seen as a pain in the rear.  To me, on the other hand, I see it as picture-perfect setting.  I took advantage of it today along with the beautiful weather and here I have for you, an outfit of the day.
I am wearing a tank top from H&M which has a sheer-ish front and on the back it is a sweater material. I know, how versatile!!  My fluorescent coral shorts are from the ever-lovely Anthropologie.  There there, hold your britches I found these on the sale rack.  Yes you can find some of the best things not at full price! My open-toed flats are from Urban Outfitters.  They are black and go with just about anything at the moment, great buy!  The silver bangle I am wearing has become one of my jewelry must-haves.  It has a small braided detail on it; I found it among some other items in my mom's jewelry box.  Never doubt your mother's jewelry box, that place can be filled with treasure envied by pirates.  It can be the "X" on the map of style.  My other bracelet, or cuff, rather is from Forever21 and for me is a statement piece.  My rings that I am wearing are ones that I wear everyday with whatever I am wearing.  My earrings are from Urban Outfitters and they have a turquoise and copper look to them, I like them A LOT.
My makeup today was minimal, so that my eye makeup wouldn't seem too over-the-top.  Instead of wearing foundation, I just used a little bit of concealer here and there.  I used a bright pink blush, and a coral-y lipstick.  For my eyes I decided to try something different, because I generally NEVER wear eyeliner.  I just winged it out for a cat-eye effect and finished off with my favorite mascara EVER, Rimmel's ScandalEyes black mascara!
I promise my fall look book is on its way! Until then..

Trend Report ∙ Bright Eyes

Hello Suzies,

EEEEEP!! I'm so psyched to do this post, I hope you enjoy!

 Final Look

To begin, I use an oil astringent to rid my face of excess oils that, under the makeup, may cause it to move around and smear more easily.  I just pour some on a cotton ball and wipe my entire face with it.  Next, I apply my foundation!  Recently I have been using the Clinique Acne Solutions in the color fresh neutral.  I don't exactly have a problem with breaking out but I like this acne formula in the summer in particular, because it has salicylic acid in it and my skin tends to be more oily in the summer.  So this keeps my face dry and dewy instead of shiny and wet looking.
I then contour my face using bronzer, I use the light/medium shade in the Almost Bronzer by Clinique.  I lightly outline my face, then make a fish face and brush the bronzer into the indented parts of my cheeks.  It may sound silly, but it is a GREAT way to contour you cheeks!  Next up is BLUSH!  My cheeks tend to blush quite a lot naturally, but I still apply a little bit.  In the summer I like to use a melon-y color, I'm wearing Limited Edition: Sweet Melon by Maybelline.  I got this a while ago so they may not sell it anymore but SURELY they have a similar shade!  Just apply that to the apples of your cheeks.  The "apples" of your cheeks are the chubby part of your cheeks when you smile, just beneath your eyes.
The Trend:
Bright Eyes
So this trend has been floating around for a while now and I finally decided to take a swing at it.  Now I know this is on the mild side, but it was my first time, what can I say?  You can definitely go a more dramatic route if you please.  I used the color Sparkling Sage by Clinique and a bright electric blue shade from one of the e.l.f pallets.  I blended the two together and lined my bottom lash line with it.  Then, in the inner corner of my eye I blended in a shimmery white pigment to brighten my eyes a bit more.  After priming my lid, I dusted on a matte off-white shadow and blended a bit more of the Sparkling Sage in my crease and outer corners.
I applied a couple of coats of Benefit's They're Real! mascara, filled in my eyebrows with a coffee bean colored eye shadow, and applied a coat of my trusty Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in shade 12. Et voila, you have a stylish , trendy makeup look to go with the outfit of your liking!
I hope you liked reading this just as much as i enjoyed writing it! Happy July!!

30 Day Snap | Day 30

Hello Suzies,

Completed.

The end of my opening project on this blog has arrived.  I have enjoyed this 30 Day Snap!  As I have read, other bloggers who partook in the challenge would seem to agree with if I said this challenge opens up one's eyes.  Ordinary things become extraordinary, and that, I think, is something we all need in our lives- to see the extraordinary in the ordinary.  I hope you have enjoyed my pictures throughout the month of June.  I am very excited for the different types of posts I have planned in the future.  Starting with a Trend Report tomorrow!

30 Day Snap | Day 28

Hello Suzies,

On the left side of my brain.

I used to want to believe that I was right-brained.  I think I am in a couple of ways, but as I've grown I have started to discover the abstract part of me come out.  I like it, a lot.

30 Day Snap | Day 27

Hello Suzies,

Recharge.

How pretty and scrummy does this salad look?  I was looking forward to chowing down on it after a long day of summer studying, I thought I was doing good trying out poppy-seed dressing..  My taste buds said, "NO!"  I still managed to eat most of it.  Gotta get them greens!!

30 Day Snap | Day 26

Hello Suzies,

Land of the Free.

Something I am very proud to say is that I am an American.  Sometimes I wish the citizens of America showed a little bit more patriotism all of the time not just on the Fourth of July or during the Olympic Games. That's my take.

30 Day Snap | Day 25

Hello Suzies,

Garbage.

For some very strange, unknown reason I was entertained by watching this cup roll around in the wind..  Even though it's a shame that there is so much trash EVERYWHERE, it makes for a neat picture sometimes.

Hello Suzies,

Lurking shadows.

No, that's not a real person... just my cardboard Harry Styles stand-up.  I am not ashamed! This is one of my favorite elements of photography, lighting.  You can do so many cool things with light.

30 Day Snap | Day 23

Hello Suzies,

Ponies Forever.

So majestic aren't they? Hahaha!  I have only ever ridden a horse once and it was super fun!  I went to a craft festival type shindig yesterday and saw this beauty!  Although it reeked of horse poo, there is nothing that can stop me from taking a cool picture!

30 Day Snap | Day 22

 Hello Suzies,

Curls.

Today I went to a family reunion.  I was thinking it might be a little boring because there aren't any of my cousins around my age, but instead I had the chance to hang out with this little one.  Surely by her curly hair you can tell that she is the most precious little girl ever!

30 Day Snap | Day 21

Hello Suzies,

Clear-ish skies.

It's the first day of summer which makes it the longest day of the year!  Mr. Sun was shining so bright today, but around 6 o'clock the dark clouds rolled in and didn't roll away until the sun set.  So instead of seeming longer, the day seemed to end earlier than expected!

30 Day Snap | Day 20

 Hello Suzies,

Frenchie.

Since the seventh grade I have been studying the French language.  Entering middle school, students were given the choice on whether to take a French, Spanish, or Literature course.  I chose to take French.  I was one out of only ten people in my class.  I excelled in the subject and have taken it by choice ever since.  As a rising junior, or eleventh grader,  I have decided to continue studying French at the AP, or Advanced Placement, level.  There are approximately 120 students in my class and only two of us have decided to take AP French.  Our summer assignment is to read the book Kiffe Kiffe Demain.  That is what I've been doing today!  Gotta love summer work!

30 Day Snap | Day 19

Hello Suzies,

No Title.

Feeling content, I've started on my summer homework which isn't exactly my favorite thing, but hard work pays off.  That is what I always tell myself when I feel fed up with school things, because ultimately we aren't working for tomorrow, we are working for the rest of our lives.  Woah, that just got deep.

Hello Suzies,

I know, I know.

I cheated! Sorry, but this honestly sums up the days I have skipped.  I am plum worn out, One Direction, that's all I have to say.  I'm still freaking out knowing that I saw them, like in real life.  It's just crazy, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
