OOTD

Hello Suzies,

O M G it's finally warm outside!  I was able to appropriately wear shorts today and I don't know about you but that makes me unreasonably happy.

I found out that this is absolutely the best running-errands outfit for such a handsome day!  I woke up had a nice tea with an old friend, run to grab some odds and ends from target, and went to a cute boutique in town!  I also made MACAROONS today!!!  What a time that was.  It was actually quite fun, but every time I attempt to bake I am always very nervous of failure because it is so easy to slip a little bit when baking.   Messing up is ok though, because after all Madeline messing up with the meringue is not going to cause the world to implode... or will it.  Anyways they were cute and pretty delicious as well!

Sunnies- Rayban
Croakie- Lilly Pullitzer
Nashville muscle tank (!!!!!!!!!!) - Urban Outfitters
Shorts- Madewell
Jellies- Urban Outfitters

French bulldog earrings- Urban Outfitters
Pink ring- Mammoth Cave (from a sixth grade school trip HA)
Black onyx ring- Etsy
Midi ring- Free People

The opinions regarding these funny little sandals have ranged from cute to ridiculous, but as I say about everything in life, 'If you like it, go for it.'  After all, some were absolutely appalled when Coco Chanel had the "audacity" to design and sell trousers for women in the 1930s, and look what CHANEL is now AND we wear pants.

 Keep life fabulous and kind!

Pamper Evening

Hello Suzies,

The other day I was feeling pretty stressed, so I took it upon myself with inspiration from Zoe to have a pamper evening.

I call this one "Stressin'".
I started out my Pamper Evening by taking a nice shower.  You could also choose to take a fancy bubble bath with candles and all but baths freak me out so I refrained.  After I wrapped my hair up in a towel, I used some of the Body Shop's body butter, which left me feeling soft and smelling fresh!  I also would like to add that, for me at least, listening to music is a great way to relax.  I highly suggest the band Daughter, and Matt Corby.

For Christmas my mom came upon a great deal of samples of beauty products.  There were a few face masks among them, and I figured this would be the perfect way to calm mah face considering I have been breaking out recently. I cannot recall the name or brand of the mask, but you should thank me because they sucker was SMEL-LY.

The mask went on very smoothly, and had a clay like feel to it.

 (Feeling glam)

Twenty minutes later and I was becoming very impatient with the stinky mess that rested on my face.

Once rinsed off, I have to say that the mask did in fact give my face that "glow".

I planned on using the Bumble&Bumble Invisible Hair Oil sample that is shown above, but somehow the tube that it was in mysteriously went missing so I'll just have to let you guys know how that works in a later post!  As an alternative, though, I sprayed some Argon oil in my hair to keep it from getting to dry when I blow dried it!

(tousles hair)

To finish off the night, I had a delightful cup of peppermint and lemongrass tea with a little bit of milk and sugar which helped me reach the perfect zen.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and maybe find it inspiring to have your own Pamper Evening!
Until we meet again...

What's in My Bag??

Hello Suzies,

Let's fine out..

FABU satchel from the luxurious and perfectly perfect TopShop.
Pencil because you never know when you'll need to write something and then need to erase it.. Oscar et la dame rose is a book I have been reading in my AP French class that I actually need to return to ma prof.  Finalment est mon journal qui WOAH soz.. Finally is my journal which hold my deepest and darkest secrets (random ideas, styling ideas, and wishlists).
Here are some various coupons I have been given.  The Creme coffeehouse, Chic-fil-a, and Bella Ragazza all of which I must use by the end of the year.
Hand sani because germs are not allowed.  Absinthe hand cream from the Body Shop, can I just say that this is the best hand lotion I have ever come upon and I wish I could have a lifetime supply.  Powder and powder brush for when you begin to shine brighter than a diamond.
I think my iPod touch is in here purely because I had forgotten that it was in there.  As you can see it has been well used and is still used because I can't plug my phone up to my car and jam.  My phone is playing the one and only, ever lovely Haim.
A thin ponytail holder, no-crease headband, rose gold bangle, gold bolt bracelet, and two pearl earrings minus one of the earring backs which is somewhere on the art room floor at school.
A lot of lipsticks because we all need options/ I put them in there and neglect to put them back in the bathroom.  I store them in this paper Lush Cosmetics bag within my bag.
Handmade yarn from a Shaker Village, a watermelon Dum Dum sucker, and a piece of copper sheeting for an art project I am doing.
The contents of my "wallet" which is actually a small cosmetic bag so it has been excluded.  EOS minty lipbalm, an Abe and eleven cents, a hotel key card from my One Direction concert that I accidentally kept, my driver's license, and my yearbook staff press card.
Lastly my bag holds my glorious car keys and keychains. The One Direction one was given to me by Leslie and the other is from Anthropologie; they were both given to me on my sixteenth birthday, actually.

I hope you all enjoyed this, and good luck to everyone studying for finals!!

Snow Dayz

Hello Suzies,

Yorkshire tea is delish.

 Cupcake hands.
Prepare to jig.

The time when students sit on the edge of their couch, crossing their fingers while watching the local news, waiting to hear the coveted words, "School has been called off.", has begun.  Some students beg for snow, but then you have 'that kid' who is like,"NOOOO I want to have a long summer."  Me too pal but one unexpected day off of school is gonna be ok.. I promise.  hahaha
I woke up to the sound of a "Snow and Sleet Mix" this morning, or shall I say afternoon.  I got up ate a tangerine, watched some OnDemand Glee, and then started my morning routine.  My routine consists of putting my contacts in; brushing my teeth; washing and moisturizing my face; applying makeup; and doing my hair. I put on very minimal makeup today just so I didn't feel like a complete bum.
My outfit I am currently wearing is one that I would not mind wearing for the rest of my life.  My top/tunic thing is from Apricot Lane; it is very light and flowy.  My leggings- me oh my I adore them- are from Forever 21.  This is only the second pair I have from there and I don't know why.  For starters they are not very expensive at all, I think they were like 8 or 9 dollars, and just have a really nice sturdy feel, ya know?  I highly recommend them!
On to the second picture..  This is a lovely present that was given to me by my wonderful friend Lesley last year around this time.  Makes me feel like I'm with my ancestors back in Eire.. not quite.  I recommend it, not highly but I recommend it.  My rings that I am wearing are both sterling silver.  One is a monogram ring from an Etsy shop, the other is a midi ring from Free People.

The Sock Diaries: Chapter 1

Hello Suzies,

I introduce to you, the Sock Diaries.

I'm excited, but also a little antsy about this post.  I guess you could describe it as a lifestyle post.  I have never done one of these, but I feel like what it is about might help someone out there.  In this series, everyday I think I have something inspirational to say (because I'm such the philosopher) or something that I think might reach out to someone, I will take a picture of my socks; I will share my story while incorporating a touch of style.  Here it goes..
Where I go to school a uniform is required, so I try to find innovative ways to express myself through accessories.  Socks are one of my favorite things, love 'em.  I have collected numerous pairs of funky, bright, fancy socks throughout the years, so I guess you could say I have become pretty good with mix-matching socks, shoes, and jewelry.  But that is not nearly the point of this.
I started back at school on Wednesday, and I am usually extremely excited about going back, seeing new and familiar faces, and learning, actually.  This year it was different.  I woke up on Tuesday very nervous, with a knot in my stomach, school was tomorrow and in my mind, I was psyching myself out.  The latter part of my previous school year just seemed to be a whirlwind of disappointment.  By no means am I looking for pity, no, but it just seemed that nothing good or happy was happening.  I was in a rut, and that is how that year ended.  I guess the thought of school automatically filled my head with negativity.
I walked into school on Wednesday morning with a couple of friends and was already feeling a little bit more positive.  The day began and the pros began to outrageously outweigh the cons.  Silence had been filled with laughter.  By the end of the day I was happy as a lark.  All along I had just been freaking myself out with nonsense.  If any of you ever feel this way, anxious or nervous or sad try to just breathe, things will come around, and you will be an even better person than before.
